Communion and Collaboration as Witness
Sr. Nina Krepić of the Dicastery for Communication called on members of the Communication Network of Catholic Sisters (CNCS) to embrace communion and collaboration as essential elements of their ministry. She emphasized that working together not only strengthens their community but also serves as a powerful witness to the Gospel.
“Communion makes community; it binds us together,” Sr. Krepić said. “Your biggest power lies in working together. You are an extraordinary witness in this part of the world.”

Storytelling as a Tool for Impact
Sr. Krepić encouraged sisters to share personal stories and testimonies, highlighting that storytelling helps the wider Church and society understand their work and enriches Church life through diverse perspectives. She also stressed the importance of being informed and knowledgeable to communicate effectively.
Ongoing Projects of the Dicastery
The Dicastery’s initiatives highlighted included:
- Young Media Professionals Visit to Rome – Exploring the intersection of faith, communion, and social media.
- Towards Full Presence – A pastoral reflection on engagement with social media for young people.
- Pentecost Project – Opportunities to share stories of ministry, access Vatican media, intern at Vatican News and Vatican Radio, and take part in a three-month online course.
CNCS Updates and Leadership Changes
CNCS Director Sr. Michelle Njeri briefed members on upcoming priorities and thanked Sr. Krepić for her visit. The meeting also saw Sr. Everlyne Nekesa officially take over as chairperson of the CNCS board from Sr. Josephine Kangogo.
“Our vocation as communicators is both prophetic and profoundly needed at the crossroads of faith, culture, and technology,” Sr. Nekesa said.
Strengthening Communion in the Church
The event was further graced by Fr. Andrew Kaufa, AMECEA’s Communication Coordinator and consultor to the Vatican Dicastery for Communication. Sr. Nekesa concluded, “May we form a tapestry of witness that speaks to the heart of today’s world,” highlighting the gathering as an opportunity to strengthen communion with the broader Church.
